Here's the situation: under 98, after choosing Restart in MS-DOS mode, I run the game's play.bat file and get the error: EMS not found! Could one of you brothers please help take a look? Thanks Under 98, running play says it can't find the CD-ROM drive After editing the relevant files, I saw strings inside like EMS not found!, must 2560K, and wording about not being able to find the CD-ROM drive

You need to load EMS. Add device=c:\windows\emm386.exe ram in config.sys and that should do it. Also, if the CD-ROM drive needs to be used, please load the CD-ROM driver as well.

I'm really very grateful to you all. In 1997 I bought a P133, so I did have a few days of contact with DOS, but my skills were poor. These past few days I also bought a Toshiba 50M for nostalgia, and I'll still need to ask all of you for more advice! Thanks again!

55555555555 my config.sys is completely blank, can I just directly load device=c:\windows\emm386.exe ram?

Yes.... You also need to load himem.sys

Thanks But after loading it I still get sysEMS not found! What should I do? I didn't load himem.sys

Load himem.sys too Load himem.sys first, then load emm386.exe
