I hope everyone will like the new forum.
The problem is not whether the new forum is good or not, but that right now basically nobody cares!!!
Sometimes when I think about it, I really feel discouraged.
Could it be that not a single person supports me???
Is my standing on the forum really that bad?
Everyone just reads posts here, and nobody goes to the new forum to test it out. Even just taking a look and saying something would be fine.

Why do I feel like this whole thing is like you're fighting alone? If all the moderators came out and promoted it a bit, the results would be better.

You should know, if this works out, it will be good for everyone.
For example, if you want to download software, you could go to the download center instead of searching for download links in posts like now.

KO, don't be discouraged either. No matter which moderator did this, the result would be the same; I think even WENGIER would get the same result. Actually it's easy enough to understand. Members come to the forum to find what they need (including DOS software and knowledge); they won't care about forum testing. And there's nothing much on the new forum, other than testing. Even if there is, it's all old stuff, and nobody can post. The attachments haven't been moved over either.
Actually I don't think testing is even necessary. As long as the forum is stable and faster than this current one, that's enough. You've worked on it for so long already, so I think it's basically fine. As long as the moderators all agree, we can just move over there. If opinions aren't unified, then I don't think there's any need for you to work so hard on this.
However, right after moving over, activity will definitely drop a lot, because many members are used to putting the forum URL in their bookmarks, and the URL in their bookmarks is this original URL: http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/newdos/, not the permanent domain: http://dosbbs.2ya.com/ But this problem is easy to solve, just use an automatic URL redirect on the old forum and it'll be OK.

No problem. I had already been thinking of using automatic redirecting.
But right now, what we need is a stable and fast server.
I took a look at autiot's server; it doesn't seem very stable, and it doesn't have a fixed IP either. faint~~
Whether we can move over there is still a question.
Mainly this is just to test the effect, and once we find a good server we can switch over...
Actually, if we had FTP access to this forum, there'd be no need to move at all; we could just upgrade it directly here...
This place is slow, but it's still fairly stable. Hehe...

As for FTP, it should stay independent from the forum. Just put up a link on the forum.
Overall, it feels like this place is more stable than autiot's server. I have a website hosted on autiot's server, and sometimes it becomes inaccessible.
