As everyone knows, the IO.SYS in the DOS that comes with WinME has one characteristic: it is relatively small. One reason is that MS removed some functions, and another reason is that it has been compressed. It definitely is not a compression format like ZIP or CAB. Does anyone have any more answers or methods? Thanks!

But in 807h the string "DS" was found...... could it be DblSpace/DrvSpace?

If it were an ordinary DBLSPACE compression format, there would usually be two blank spaces before and after the "DS" string, but that is not the case with this IO.SYS。。

Edit: of course, after further research, it was discovered that it is indeed compressed with a special version of DBLSPACE->MSCM; the front part is the compressed code, while its decompressor is in the last part of IO.SYS.
