A few days ago I messed around in DOS, and after that my startup and shutdown times became very long, especially shutdown. It shows "Windows98 is shutting down"... and then there is no response. I have to wait until I press reset, and then I can shut it down. Is there any way to fix this? What should I do?

Check the BIOS for this, it probably doesn't have much to do with DOS...

First scan for viruses, and if that doesn't work, try installing a Win98 patch....
