I used USBBOOT to select the USB-HDD mode to make a USB bootable disk. I downloaded a file that supports long filenames and NFTS partitions. After downloading, I directly extracted it to the USB flash drive. After booting with the USB flash drive, I loaded these two files. When I did DIR C:, the long filenames in the C drive were still represented by ~, and I couldn't see the NFTS partition. Everyone, please help me see what's wrong. I followed the book but can't figure out the problem.

Could it be that the boot disk is problematic? Try using a standard WIN98 floppy disk; or there might be an issue with your NTFS file. I have one here, give it a try.

I made it with USBBOOT1.7, HP6715S notebook, set three modes, only USB-HDD can boot, downloaded an NFTSDOS.EXE and directly extracted it to the USB flash drive, the file was downloaded directly from this website

After executing DIR C:, the long filenames in the C drive are still represented by ~, which is normal.
I used to be able to display long filenames in the VC tool, and the file NFTSDOS.EXE needs to be loaded or run. Find the mdos71bd boot disk, and this boot item is relatively complete.

In what aspects does NFTSDOS.EXE support long file names?
I think this way: After loading NFTSDOS.EXE, then DIR C, the long file names in C should all be displayed, but they are still represented by ~. Then, is it possible that the NFTSDOS.EXE file I extracted is problematic? Or did I misunderstand the meaning of supporting long file names?
