Renamed my PE to: WinPE & DOS Hard Disk - USB Version
1. Added "Please enter (D) to add DOS maintenance tools to your PE, press any key to continue" during installation.
2. Unified the PE image file, DOS image file, and related programs in the "Toolos" directory.
3. When installing on the hard disk, renamed grldr to Tooldr to avoid confusion with other software guided by grldr.
4. For USB installation, still use grldr in the root directory, mainly to improve USB compatibility. Used the latest version of grub4dos-0.4.4-2008-11-19.
5. The DOS maintenance tool added to your PE is Wengier's MS-DOS 7.1. Here, I would like to thank Wengier and deeply respect his contribution to DOS!
6. After adding the DOS maintenance tool, you can rename any DOS maintenance system image file (*.Img) to Dos.Img and put it into the installed directory Toolos (such as: C:\Toolos) to automatically mount and use.
7. The DOS images I tested and think are relatively easy to use are:

9. The articles of Lao Jiu and Lao Maotao on Wuyou have been of great help to my learning of PE, from knowing nothing to now being able to do something to serve everyone. Here, I deeply respect them.

Haven't updated my PE for a long time.很早就有 friends called me to change the USB version boot to Grub method.
Due to being injured during the earthquake, I stayed in the hospital for several months, and because of bad mood, I haven't started.
Recently, I have a little free time, so I started to modify the installation file.
1. Changed PE to Grub boot.
2. Grub adopts the built-in menu method, which better supports PE boot password.
3. The installation file integrates HP USB format tool, using Lao Maotao PE special version. I think this version is simple and easy to use.
4. Integrated grubinst_gui to write Grub boot tool, which has strong versatility.
5. Deleted the less useful CD version and PE ghost USB image

Only updated the ghost script part in "PE ":
1. Added "One-key backup and restore option" in the original script. No need to enter the drive letter, automatically write the backup file to your last disk.
2. To prevent accidental deletion, the backup directory of "One-key backup option" is "GHOST.".
3. To view, enter "cd ghost~1" in the "GHOST." DOS window to enter the directory to view the files in the directory.
4. The "GHOST." directory will be automatically deleted after running uninstall PE.
5. The "One-key backup and restore option" in the script can only back up files to a NTFS formatted disk. If the disk where the backup file is stored is not NTFS, please choose "Manual backup and restore" or "Run Ghost" for backup.

Answering a few friends' questions:
1. For the installation and uninstallation of the PE I posted, please see the screenshots on floor 3. Just click "Install - Uninstall WinPE.bat" in the package.
2. Regarding the CD version, I personally think there is no need to make the CD version anymore. For the CD version, I first recommend Lao Jiu WinPE Lao Maotao Modified Version (Build 070911), which is the best. It is better than well-known PE versions such as V2, Red Leaf, and Rainforest in terms of stability and compatibility. (Just personal practice proves)
3. For using my PE , for friends who are not very familiar with PE. There will be no problem that the C drive cannot be formatted, etc.
4. Regarding ghost, I wrote a simple batch to facilitate friends who are not familiar with ghost to use. The batch is not compiled, just for reference, welcome everyone to modify. ggghost backup and recovery tool is very good, but thinking of friends who will use ghost, just use ghost directly, why go to the trouble. Therefore, this simple batch was made.
5. There is a menu under the black screen for the client? This is the power management selection. Generally, just choose the first one. For some dual-core processors, you need to choose the second one. For server motherboards (such as E7520, etc.), choose the third one. For very old machines, choose the fourth one. Of course, it is not absolute. Added SMP architecture kernel and hardware abstraction layer support, and will not jump out of the unrecognized hardware system dialog box under multi-processor and dual-core processor architectures. ”
