I want to write a 1.6 MB file to a floppy disk, but I don't know if it can be done. If it can, what software should I use? Please explain it clearly, I'm a newbie.

Use maxformat

Of course not. Sometimes with maxformat it won't boot, and sometimes the floppy disk is completely ruined.

First try to compress it to under 1.44MB as much as possible. If it really won't work, then use HD-COPY to format it as 1.68MB and then copy it over.

Try using hd-copy yourself first. There are only a few options in total. Hint: the English for 格式化 is format.

Just use the disk compression in WIN9X.
