Usage instructions:

WinVNC lets you remotely control a computer. WinVNC is one of the many platform versions of VNC (Virtual Network Computing). It can be installed in Windows so that users can remotely control their own computers from anywhere in the world, and even remotely control different operating platforms without any problem!

1. (winvnc) is the Server installer, installed on the computer being controlled to provide remote connection service.

2. You can connect to the Server through the (vncviewer) program.

winvnc:
Accept socket connections: after checking this option, it means client connections are accepted

Enable Java viewer: after checking this option, clients can directly log in to WinVNC Server with an Internet Browser

Disable remote keyboard and pointer: any client connection can only view, and cannot control the server

Disable local keyboard and pointer: the server cannot make any input, only the client can control it

Remove desktop wallpaper: when a client is connected, the server's Wallpaper will be temporarily removed until the client disconnects.

This function can save some unnecessary transmission and save bandwidth.

Poll full screen: all windows, rather wasteful of bandwidth, but the data is more accurate

Poll foreground window: the topmost window, uses a bit less CPU resources, basically almost the same effect as full-screen mode

Poll only console windows: don't know what it's for...... but it's better to check this option ......

Poll only on event received: when the client has any input (including mouse and keyboard), it will update; this option is designed for low bandwidth



Poll window under cursor: the window under the mouse, can be used together with foreground-window

Lock workstation: when the last client disconnects, the system will be locked

Logoff workstation: when the last client disconnects, the system will be logged off



●Operations on a remote computer:

　　1. Find a computer that can access the Internet, enter the controlled computer's IP and the configured port number.

Explanation: In VNC, the preset port number when Auto is selected is 5800. If customized, it increases from 5800 upward. For example, if set to 100, then the port number is 5900.

　　2. Enter the password you just set, otherwise VNC will not allow remote connection, then press "OK".

　　Then you can remotely control the computer.

　　Of course, this software has quite a few other functions, but they are all very simple to use (this is also one of the reasons why I recommend this software). If you are interested, you can try it directly, and I believe you'll like it as soon as you try it ^_^.

　　●Things to note when remotely controlling

The browser's color depth can only display 256 colors, while VncViewer can display 65536 colors (full color). In display speed, VncViewer is slightly better.

　　1. After remote control software is installed, as long as someone connects in they can see the local desktop, so setting a password is "absolutely necessary". Otherwise, at best the actions on your desktop may be secretly watched, and at worst your computer may get hacked.

　　2. If you install remote control software mainly to let others help you repair your computer, then unless necessary, don't turn it on, to avoid letting "interested people" take advantage of the opening. Some remote control software will issue warning messages when being controlled, but the free VNC does not have this function, so you need to be even more careful.

　　3. If during remote control you feel the screen colors look strange, that is because the software lowers the color count to speed up transmission; this is normal. Some software can even reduce it to only black and white, which can greatly speed things up. If you're only remotely controlling the computer to grab files, low color depth really doesn't matter.

　　4. Viewing is one-way only, otherwise it will enter the mysterious "infinite recursion." (It's like two mirrors facing each other, constantly reflecting each other's image. When a looks at b, b cannot look at a, that is, go back to b's own desktop.)

5. When connected, prohibit the client from using the keyboard and mouse on the connected screen; when connected, prohibit the local machine from using the keyboard and mouse:

a. If the server side is a 2K machine and the client side is a 98 machine, then both of these settings are effective.

b. If the server side is a 98 machine and the client side is also a 98 machine, then the remote client prohibition is effective, while the local server-side prohibition is ineffective!

c. If the server side is a 98 machine and the client side is a 2K machine, then both of these settings are ineffective!


6. The server side can be viewed by multiple clients, while one client can only connect to one server side:
(The server side is always the one being viewed, and the client side is the viewer.)

a. The server side can effectively bypass the firewall. For the server side to connect to multiple clients, the clients need to be in "listening" state

b. One server side always allows only one client to connect and view it


7. The VNC icon appears in the system tray area, but I hope it can be hidden.


Enter MS-DOS and type:
