Right now I'm using pure MSDOS 7.10 (no WIN), and I want to install MSC 7.0, but it asks me to install 386-MAX or something first to provide DPMI. What should I do?
I did get TC3.0 4 DOS installed, and it can compile and run the example programs. But can it provide DPMI?

It doesn't have to be 386MAX. Other DPMI servers, such as QEMM386 and the like, can also do it.

How does QEMM386 provide DPMI?

Just load QDPMI.SYS in CONFIG.SYS
For example:
device=c:\qemm\qdpmi.sys

But I don't know how much memory you have. If the memory is "too large", applications may have problems when calling the DPMI provided by QDPMI. I still haven't solved this problem to this day:
