I installed MS-DOS 7.0 and then installed Microsoft Network Client 3.0. I can connect to the network, but I can't share. I changed the values of filesharing and printsharing in the [network] section of SYSTEM.INI to yes, but it still doesn't work. I don't know how to make sharing work.

What do you want to share?

I have always used the network under DOS. In my experience, the network under DOS can only share things shared by other machines, and cannot share my own things with others. Here, sharing refers to Microsoft's sharing.

I want to share the partition where the DOS system is located, but I followed Wengier's tutorial. He wrote that sharing is possible in it, but I can't use net share. I don't know the reason. It seems that the net command doesn't include this command.

In my memory, I have seen someone use the lanman server for sharing under DOS, but I have never used it myself.

Oh, it's in English, I can't understand. But I restarted and changed all the values of filesharing and printsharing in the [network] section to yes, which is for file and printer sharing. But it still doesn't work.

There's no way, the hard drive is broken and I can't get the data. It should be a network boot disk from a foreigner.

At that time, his page specifically mentioned that the net provided by microsoft.com doesn't support open sharing under DOS, and I can't find it on Google and can't help. Why not try my disk? I don't remember exactly which files they are.

Put in http://dato.ys168.com bootdisk/net.zip which is used online.

By the way, bart's network boot disk is the best network boot disk I've used under DOS. I often use it to connect to the network to install the operating system. Many other network boot disks can't recognize multiple network cards well and configure them correctly.

Why not use the forum's search function to find it?

The net command supports sharing under DOS.

As shown in the following figure, select file share server, then click ok.

Thanks, but I can't share my C drive. There's no way to start the sharing service.

At first, there was a prompt asking if I wanted to load share.exe, but it didn't load successfully. It asked if I wanted to continue, but it still didn't work.

Now it can be shared, but it can't be accessed. My system is XP, and the DOS you used is in the virtual machine. I want to connect and share with each other, but there's no way.

Make more use of the forum's search function. You can access the DOS share by mapping a network drive in XP. No need for share.exe.

I have searched, but only the beginning and the end are there, and there is no middle.
This XP cannot access the shared directory in DOS. (With pictures)
I originally thought I could find the answer, but I'm still very speechless. I don't know what the process in the middle is.
