After multiple attempts, I finally can access the shared resources of the real host under the DOS system of VMWARE. But I encountered a problem that I don't understand very well. So I want to ask everyone for advice:
On machines with XP and 2003 installed, only after adding the NETBEUI protocol can the shared resources of XP and 2003 be accessed under the DOS system. If the NETBEUI protocol is not added, when using the NET USE command for mapping under DOS, it will prompt ERROR 53, the network path was not found.
On machines with XP and 2003, by default, there is no NETBEUI protocol, only the three protocols of TCP/IP, Microsoft Network Client, and Microsoft Network File and Printer Sharing. XP and 2003 can normally access each other.
But why can't the shared resources of XP and 2003 be accessed under the DOS system?? It must be that XP and 2003 add the NETBEUI protocol????
Is there anyone who can explain it for me????
