This kind of thing creates a lot of garbage replies. Personally, I think replies are an evaluation of what you posted. As long as it's good stuff, people won't be stingy about replying.

Or maybe the person posting hopes for more people to respond, but I think there's no point in looking at the previous replies before reading it; after reading it, you'll naturally have a response. I didn't look at any of those posts that required a reply before viewing.
