Why is it that in lynx, when I directly enter an IP after http;//, it adds an extra single quote
and then it can't connect. How should I fix it?
arachne seems to do this too.

What single quote? I don't think I've ever seen that.

For example, if I enter http://192.168.0.1
then the IP it connects to turns into 'http://192.168.0.1' — it just adds quotes like that
and then it can't connect

(This was posted with lynx, why do even 2 characters come out wrong... so annoying! )

Could it be that there's something wrong with your settings? I've never run into this kind of error when using Lynx.

That's not how it is in my lynx. Why is it so strange?

I mean http;//ip turns into 'http;//ip'

So it has extra quotes. Entering a website address works though (sometimes entering an IP works too)


lynx is really incredibly hard to use I can't stand it anymore better use ie instead : )
