Sometimes our system breaks down for no apparent reason, the dual-boot menu is gone, the motherboard doesn't support USB drive booting, and there's no CD-ROM drive (or the CD-ROM drive is also broken). However, our computer has a system that has already been backed up by Ghost, and there's also ghost8.3.exe. Now we just can't enter DOS, can't run Ghost if we can't enter DOS, and thus can't restore the system. What should we do? Do we really have to buy a CD-ROM drive?
This post has been posted on other forums, and there are no good solutions. Let's see if there's a way in the DOS forum.

Install GRUB into the MBR, or simply flash it to the BIOS.

For your current problem, the most practical thing is to remove the hard drive and install a DOS on another machine first.

Why don't major motherboard manufacturers add DOS functionality to motherboards? This should be a matter of little effort.

Pressing del enters the BIOS. Now motherboards can boot from CD-ROM, hard disk, floppy disk, USB, ZIP, etc. Why isn't there DOS? If there is DOS functionality, even if the motherboard is 1000 yuan more expensive, I would be willing to buy it.

Is adding DOS functionality to a motherboard a piece of cake? Do you know how to add it?

It should be easier than hard drives, optical drives, floppy drives, USB, ZIP, etc., because these are all hardware, while DOS is software.

A DOS file doesn't exceed 1.4M (floppy disk), and add a DOS chip on the mainboard.

A great expert. I admire it very much, although I don't understand.
But if the owner of the building has this level, he won't post a question here on how to enter DOS. Hehe.

After downloading and installing the Dwarf DOS Toolkit, restarting the computer will bring up a selection menu to enter DOS.

The dual-boot menu is also gone! This kind of thing exists! Is it a hardware problem?

The dual - boot menu is very easy to lose. As long as you delete boot.ini, there will be no multi - boot menu.

It seems you can only go to another computer to install DOS on the hard drive, or you can make a dual - boot menu.
Or go to another computer to install a virtual floppy drive on your hard drive, that's also okay.
