This file was originally made by using the Chinese version of WinImage6.10
to convert the sz.img file into the sz.exe file.
That way you can just double-click it and extract it directly to the floppy.
But because after extracting it to the floppy, I still wanted to turn the floppy into a high-speed floppy format,
I then compressed it again with Winrar into a self-extracting file,
and at the same time added an *.ico icon file into the self-extracting file to make the icon look better!
At the same time I added the sz.bat batch file into it.
So that after extraction, the self-extracting file will automatically run this batch file.
You can extract it and take a look.
The main contents inside are:
after extraction it automatically runs the sz.exe file.
Writes the image file to the floppy.
Then it automatically deletes the temporary file sz.exe under C:\WINDOWS\TEMP.
Checks whether the floppy was written correctly.
If it was written correctly,
it automatically runs the file A:\QCONVERT.EXE,
to reorganize the floppy into a high-speed floppy format,
ends the program and exits the window.
In order to upload it to the forum,
in the end I compressed it once more with winrar
and split it into two files to upload here.
But this method of making it also has its bad side,
for example for crazy DOS enthusiasts like Wengier
who even do decompression under DOS, I really have nothing to say!
Because most of these self-extracting files just can't run under DOS!
The self-extracting file made with the Chinese version of WinImage6.10
is actually just a winZIP self-extracting archive,
plus some special write files!
I don't have the ability to make those special write files,
so I could only let the Chinese version of WinImage6.10 do it for me.
The advantages of doing it this way are also very obvious,
it makes creating boot disks under Windows foolproof and convenient for beginners!
