Can one of you experts tell me how to use findcd?
In autoexec.bat, how can I make a variable get the CD-ROM drive letter found by findcd? Thanks |

Actually, FINDCD is very simple to use. Just use FINDCD/? and you can see some examples.
For example: FINDCD ECHO The CD-ROM drive is %CDROM% And uses like FINDCD /S have even more features. |

Also:
When there are multiple CD-ROM drives, how does it assign the drive letters? |

For example:
FINDCD 2 will assign the drive letter of the 2nd CD-ROM drive to %CDROM%; FINDCD 3 will assign the 3rd one, and so on; If you run FINDCD /S, it will assign all CD-ROM drive letters at once, as %CDROM1%, %CDROM2%, and so on, while at that time %CDROM% will be the total number of CD-ROM drives. |
