The most prominent feature of Chinese MiniWin3.2 is its friendly and beautiful interface, as well as convenient and practical operation. Some netizens have asked about its actual uses. In fact, its uses are quite extensive. It can not only be used as a Chinese menu program with a GUI interface under DOS but also as a multitask manager for DOS and WIN programs.

Now I have made a functional demonstration version of the new 1.44MB all-Chinese MiniWin3.2 boot disk, mainly to let everyone experience it. After it starts, a main menu (in Chinese) will appear. The menu includes "MS-DOS Mode", "QuickView 1.03b for DOS", "MS Editor for DOS", "Notepad", "Clock", "Reversi" and other DOS and WIN programs. Users can freely choose to enter. Everyone should be relatively familiar with WIN operations, so it is also very easy to operate this MiniWin. Moreover, its expandability and versatility are also very strong. The content and shortcuts in the menu are very convenient to modify. Everyone can have a try to make their own all-Chinese interface menu program.

As for the DOS part, there are two main modifications compared with the previous version. One is to use the new MS-DOS 7.10 IO.SYS, so that it is not affected by the "logical lock" of the hard disk; the second is to use the latest version of ROM-DOS 7.10 COMMAND.COM, so as to greatly reduce the disk space occupation and put more programs in.

Other features: fully support large hard disks, FAT32 partitions, large memory, IDE optical drives, mice, disk cache, etc.

In addition, since this boot floppy disk image is already 1.44MB, it is more convenient to make it into a CD-ROM boot! Everyone can download and try it (recommended)!:

The control panel can't be opened either. In the main group, "QuickView 1.03b for DOS", "MS Editor for DOS", and "Reversi" are not found.

It will be there after staying on DOS and then entering WIN. But there is no file manager.

File managers, well, they were really deleted. Only then can the volume be saved.

Supplement, this is actually just a demo version of an application example of the Chinese MiniWin. My idea is to use MiniWin as a Chinese menu program in the graphical mode of DOS, that is, the content in the menu is mainly various DOS programs. After all, this MiniWin is a Chinese menu interface and is multitasking, so it is much better than menu programs like WBAT, DOS94, etc.

Although there are those advantages, I think the drawbacks are greater. Who would want to use a lot of boot time and space to boot a non-essential WIN3X platform just to run DOS programs? Even with multitasking, how much significance does multitasking have in the current usage environment?

Seeing that the icon of the "file manager" cannot be entered is because when starting, choosing "Yes" in "Restore system settings?" is the reason! Choosing "No" will be fine. But I have updated it, so there is no need to enter again. Download address:

Everyone should not dampen the enthusiasm of the forum moderator. They have done a good job, which is better than those who just take things for granted...

I just question the practicality of the current development direction of MINIWIN, and I don't mean to dampen it.
The current MINIWIN is like a decorative item

In this context, "vase" is used metaphorically. It means that the MINIWIN currently looks good on the surface but may lack practical functionality or depth.

At present, MINIWIN is like a vase

May I ask what the meaning of this "vase" is? I don't quite understand it.

........It means good-looking but not practical

I think if you want to make a MiniWin boot disk, it's best to use a CD because it has a large capacity, can hold many software, and the practicality will be greatly improved

USB flash drives are probably the best... 16MB, 32MB, etc. are all okay, and they are very fast too.
