China DOS Union

First problem: under DOS I can't find the CD-ROM drive letter (the hard disk has four partitions, C, D, E, F; under DOS, CD G: shows invalid drive;
Second problem: under WIN98, after booting directly from the CD and clicking "Install XP", it hangs! (The CD is a pirated burned disc );
Third problem: WIN98 was always installed on drive C. After a virus infection, I used a GHOST image file to overwrite drive C, and the XP installed on drive D can no longer be used! So I was going to reinstall XP to drive D, but now I can't install it. I don't know whether the overwritten WIN98 is causing it to be impossible to install now??????

These admin functions aren't very easy to use either...
So I had no choice but to unlock this one here again.

Answer 1. From what you said, I guess the CD-ROM driver wasn't loaded (I suggest referring to the moderator's MS-DOS7.1 boot disk config.sys,,,autoexec.bat)
2. Check whether WIN98 has loaded any other programs
3. I suggest looking up articles online about how to restore a WINXP and WIN98 dual-boot system. There are many online.
Try searching with Gougou!!

When copying I386 from the XP CD to drive D, it hung at 289M!!!!!!!

How exactly are you copying it? With the COPY command?

I'm just copying I386 from the XP setup CD to drive D under WIN98. Doesn't that work???
