The existing hide command of Grub4dos allows hiding extended partitions - marked as 1F, but DOS, Windows itself, and numerous disk tools under it such as pq8, ghost11, TrueImage, etc. cannot correctly recognize this hidden extended partition, which further leads to the non-use of logical drives.

It is suggested not to add parameters to the hide command. When using parameters, it can hide the extended partition, and when not using parameters, it ignores the command of hiding the extended partition and gives a prompt.

There are no people using 1F Buluo, and of course those common partition - related software can't recognize it. Not clicking is to deliberately set this ID to prevent other software from misusing it.

I once had a problem with hide. All partitions D and E couldn't be found. Later, using tools to search automatically only made it worse -- reformat! For novice Caicai, it's still cautious to use Grub4dos. Losing things is the most painful.

Can't you use a partitioning software to forcibly set the ID of the hidden extended partition to 0FH (if it was originally 15H, change it to 05H) to make it appear?

On August 10, 2008, a new command `checkrange` was added. When used in conjunction with `&&` and `||`, it can execute commands under the conditions specified by the user.

For example,

checkrange 0x05,0x0F,0x85 parttype (hd0,1) || hide (hd0,1)

This means: check the type of partition (hd0,1). If it is an extended partition with 05, 0F, 85, then the `hide` command is not executed; otherwise, the `hide` command is executed.
