I used the GDISK command to create a logical partition,

gdisk 1 /cre /log /ext/p /v:DATA

It can be used normally with an 80G hard drive

But it can't be used with a 250G hard drive.

Can the expert tell me what the size limit of GDISK is for hard drives?

Supports up to 2TG, which is large enough.

Can /log and /ext be used together? Should be no.

Haven't used gdisk for many years, not familiar with the parameters.

Can be used~~~~

On an 80G hard drive, it can realize converting extended ext to logical log.

But it cannot be realized on a 250G hard drive. Very strange

Don't you need to specify the partition format of the log?

gdisk /cre /log is not working

So it's the same whether you allocate or not.

I'm not sure if it's the same. Just personally think that the parameter usage may not be legal. Hehe.
Strictly following the requirements is basic.

Only when the parameters are correct can we discuss the problem.

There are several versions of gdisk, some are over 200K, some are over 300K, some are 1.2M, some are 1.5M. Do all these versions support up to 2TG? What are the differences between these versions?

For specific differences between versions, you should refer to the corresponding help files.

I guess the gdisk from about 10 years ago can handle current hard drive sizes, heh.

To get usage instructions, type gdisk /? .

In Ghost11 and later, gdisk supports partitioning and formatting to NTFS. For a 250G hard drive, if the number of partitions is less than 8, there must be an NTFS partition [because FAT32 only supports partitions below 32G]. This is how I partition: 25, 32, 32, 70, 91G. Partitions larger than 32G are all formatted as NTFS. With gdisk in Ghost11 and later, it can be like this:

gdisk 1 /cre /pri /sz:25000 /for /q
gdisk 1 /cre /ext
gdisk 1 /cre /log /sz:32000 /for /q
gdisk 1 /cre /log /sz:32000 /for /q
gdisk 1 /cre /log /sz:70000 /for /q /NTFS
gdisk 1 /cre /log /for /q /NTFS /R

Make the above into a batch file and execute it under DOS, and it will definitely work!
