The new DOS era initially was placed on newdos.yginfo.net. At that time, most download links were local links. Later, newdos.yginfo.net was broken, so the web page had to be moved to a new server, but all the original local links didn't work anymore. From then on, external links were mostly used because even if the local server was broken, the external links could still be used.
