I was originally using WIN98, and everything was normal. After installing WIN2000, the sound card stopped producing sound. After reinstalling the sound card driver, it could produce sound, but the audio was very noisy and very quiet. Moderator, what is the reason???
Is it that WIN2000 is incompatible with that sound card, or is there a problem with the sound card driver??????? |

Please install the sound card driver for win2000.
This problem came up for me when I installed the beta version of win2000. The first beta had no sound at all on my 810 motherboard, and the third beta had sound, but sometimes it would lose sound. (That is, it would be playing fine, then suddenly there would be no sound.) After the official win2000 release came out, there was no such problem. I guess your compatibility has a problem (actually it's also a sound card driver problem : )). |

Mine is also an 810 motherboard. I'm currently using WIN2000 Professional, so I'll go back and try reinstalling the sound card driver. Thanks!!

I suggest changing your post title to “sound card cannot produce sound under win2000”; please modify it yourself.
