Compared with other Chinese character support systems such as UCDOS, CCDOS97 has a very big problem (drawback), namely that it often automatically switches to Chinese mode, making some software completely unable to run. For example: EE (a very good calculator program), CL (the famous Chinese Lister), etc. — as soon as they are run, the system immediately hangs completely or automatically restarts the computer. And software such as QV (QuickView) also cannot run normally under CCDOS97: QV locks up as soon as it displays an image, and when OpenCP plays MP3s and other music, its graphics are displayed as garbled text, etc. (even if you press Ctrl+F7 to switch to English mode, it will automatically switch back to Chinese mode). UCDOS does not have this problem and can run them normally. But compared with CCDOS97, Chinese character support systems such as UCDOS have other problems, for example, EDIT's copy and paste functions cannot be used under UCDOS, and its compatibility with the Lynx browser is not very good, and so on. I'd like to ask Teacher Mo and everyone whether there is any good solution, or whether there is a Chinese character support system that strikes a balance?
Note: the ETen Chinese character support system simply will not install.
