China's software piracy rate is 92% The international software rights protection group BSA (Business Software Alliance) announced on June 3, 2003 that China's piracy rate is 92%, India's is 70%, Indonesia's is 89%, Vietnam's is 95%, Thailand's is 77%, Russia's is 89%, the United States' is 23%, and Japan's is 35%. In addition, the global average rate is 39%. BSA is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, DC, USA, joined by major American software vendors such as Adobe Systems, Microsoft, and Symantec.
