I wonder if anyone has run into this situation: after cloning over someone else’s already installed system, the CD-ROM drive disappears. I think the reason is probably that the motherboard chipset is different. To load the CD-ROM drive under DOS, you have to COPY the motherboard drivers over and install them before this problem is solved. I wonder if there is any other way, without installing the motherboard drivers, to have the CD-ROM drive recognized automatically? Later on, while walking around the computer market, I found a CD called smart clone installation, and it really was pretty smart. It was cloned during the Win98 installation process, before the second startup (the startup where it automatically searches for hardware). After cloning this CD to the hard disk, the CD-ROM drive could be used, and most amazingly, a lot of software was already installed. Powerful! So, do any of you comrades know how to make this kind of CD? Please give me some advice! Also, also, it clones both the C and D drives into one file, but in split parts. When cloning to the hard disk, it first clones this file to the C drive, then clones it to the D drive. When the D drive is halfway through, it prompts you to insert the next file.

Take a look at this~http://newsoft99.xicp.net/viewthread.php?tid=110It’s just that there’s no software,, if you want software, then install everything on one machine first,, then uninstall all the motherboard\graphics card\sound card... etc. drivers, then reboot into DOS, and make a GHOST file, and that will do...

How do you uninstall the drivers? Also, how can you back up both the C and D drives at the same time? Thanks.
