Last night I used Super Rabbit to clean up the system, and accidentally lost the "New Folder" and "New Text Document" options in the right-click menu...

I'm not familiar with the registry, but I think the reg command in batch processing should be able to fix it...

If possible, talk about adding arbitrary files to the right-click

Thanks! Will give extra points!

Unexpectedly you have also posted the same method in Baidu Knows. Okay, mine has been solved, thank you...

I want to learn how to operate reg? The right-click of files and folders in the registry...

The general format for adding and deleting registry key values...?

Let's discuss, once you master the registry, there are no unsolvable problems...

……I want to see what your default is?

If I delete that new, there are no arrangements when right-clicking on the desktop...

I want to see how to delete the New Folder...

Can you use Rabbit to modify it again?
Use regshot to compare the registry changes...

I'll give you extra points if you compare it out~

REGEDIT4

[-Item Name]

"Key"=-

As for the new items, look at the shellnew under ROOT like txt, bmp, etc., and then Google it.

The folder is Directory
For files, look at the type...
To do all, you can put it in * or AFSO...

This regshot.exe is quite interesting. I haven't used it before, and now I don't know how to use it very well. I'll study it carefully...

You want me to delete the new folder again, but I don't dare.

But if you use Super Rabbit in the menu options - in the context menu section, you select the folder, delete all, it seems the new one disappears... You can try it, just make a backup before operating. When restoring, it seems related to regsvr32 registration, unregistration, etc. (I fixed the desktop right-click arrangement with this, and then used the registry import you mentioned to bring back the new menu)... I don't understand, these are all found on the Internet...

Because to test that one, you also need to download Super Rabbit... It's very troublesome...

You have so I told you to try...

I said about new deletion or modification, after changing the arrangement, those are gone.

But using that registry can restore your that problem, indicating that there is still a change there, right?
So I thought... If it's not tested, it's fine.

The information collected online before. Friends who are interested can learn together ^_^

1. Add Right-Click Commands

If the command you want to use is not in the right-click menu, we need to "add" it ourselves. Let's look at a few addition examples. Once you grasp the basic methods, you can apply them universally to add any command.
To add a right-click command to restart the computer. "Restarting the computer" is a task that is often needed, but it requires several steps like clicking "Start/Shut Down System/Restart Computer/OK", which is cumbersome. It would be more convenient if you could restart at any time via a right-click command. To add "Restart Computer" to the right-click menu, the method is: Open the Registry Editor, locate "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CLASSES\Directory\shell", create a new subkey named "Restart" under it, then double-click "Default" in the right window and set the value to "Restart Computer". Next, create a sub项 named "command" under the "Restart" subkey, double-click "Default" in the right window, and set the value to "C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE USER.EXE,EXITWINDOWSEXEC". After pressing Enter to exit, right-click any folder or the "Start" button, and you can select the "Restart Computer" command in the pop-up menu.
Except for the Recycle Bin itself, the right-click menu of other files does not have the "Empty Recycle Bin" command. So we can also add it. Create a new primary key "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}" under "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers", confirm and exit the registry. When you right-click any file, there will be an "Empty Recycle Bin" option in its shortcut menu.

2. Delete Right-Click Commands

The options in the right-click menu are of varying quality, and useless commands should be removed mercilessly. When surfing the Internet, you often encounter situations where the IE homepage or title bar is changed, and everyone is used to it. But recently, there is a new source code that adds its website name to the right-click menu, which will appear in the pop-up menu when you right-click. Although it doesn't affect use, an unremarkable website is not worth staying in the right-click menu, and a long right-click menu is also unsightly. The way to remove it is: Open the Registry Editor, find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt", and you will see the annoying URL. Delete it, and the website name will no longer appear in the right-click.
Sometimes, after we normally uninstall an application, some unnecessary items still remain in the right-click menu, and they also need to be deleted. These remaining items are generally stored in "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers"; if they are items only valid for folders, they are stored in "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell" and "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers", and sometimes in "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell" and "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers". Find them and delete them.
What if you don't want the right-click menu to be displayed? For example, to prohibit the right-click pop-up menu of the "Start" button. Create a key value "NoTrayContextMenu" under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" and assign it "1". Then when you right-click the "Start" button, the shortcut menu will not appear.

3. Localize Right-Click Commands

Sometimes, when using the right-click in some programs, some commands in the right-click menu are displayed in English. If you are not good at English, you will be "confused". In fact, they can be localized. For example, after installing NetAnts, when you right-click the mouse while browsing the web, you will find "Download All by NetAnts" in the menu, which is not harmonious with other Chinese options. The way to localize it is: Open the Registry Editor, locate "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Download &&All by NetAnts", then right-click the "Download &&All by NetAnts" subkey, select "Rename" in the pop-up shortcut menu, then the "Download &&All by NetAnts" subkey becomes editable. At this time, you can modify it to "全部由网络蚂蚁下载", press Enter, then restart the browser, and the localized content takes effect.

4. Add Right-Click Menus for File-Type Objects

Expand the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" branch in turn, right-click the "Shell" primary key in it, select the "New/Primary Key" command in the pop-up menu, then rename "New Key #1" to "Open Word 2000". Then right-click the "Open Word 2000" primary key, select "New/Primary Key" in turn, and rename it to "Command". Select the "Command" primary key, double-click the "Default" text under "Name" in the right window, enter the full path of the executable file Winword.exe of Word2000 under "Value", such as "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe" (note that the quotes should not be entered), press the "OK" button, then close the Registry Editor.
Now double-click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, double-click any drive icon, and select a file from it (note that you can't select a folder for now), press the right mouse button, and you can see the "Open Word 2000" option in the pop-up shortcut menu. Click it to run Word 2000. If you right-click any application shortcut icon on the desktop, you can also find the "Open Word 2000" option in the pop-up right-click menu.

5. Add Right-Click Menus for Folder-Type Objects

To add the above right-click menu for folder-type objects, just perform the same settings on the "Shell" primary key under the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder" primary key in the same way as above.
Now select any folder, press the right mouse button, and you can see that the "Open Word 2000" option is also added to the pop-up shortcut menu. More wonderfully, when you right-click the "Start" button on the taskbar, the "Open Word 2000" option is also added to the pop-up menu! Not only will these application options appear in the right-click menu of the "Start" button, but also in the right-click menus of any folder-type objects such as "My Computer", "My Documents", "Recycle Bin" on the desktop. Isn't it very convenient to open these programs?
Using the above method, we can add other frequently used software to the right-click menu. If you want to delete these options in the right-click menu, just delete the corresponding primary key in the registry.

6. Specify Right-Click Menus for File Types

Adding options to the right-click menu for specific file types can be achieved by modifying the registry. However, there is a simpler and safer method, which is to modify it in the Folder Options. For example, to add an item "Play with MPlayer2 (Windows Media Player 6.4)" to the right-click menu of MP3 files, the specific operation is as follows: Click "Tools" "Folder Options" "File Types" in Windows Explorer in turn, select "MP3" in the registered file type list box, click the "Advanced" button below, click the "New" button in the pop-up dialog box, then enter "Play with MPlayer2" in the "Action" text box, enter ""C:Program FilesWindows Media Playermplayer2.exe" /Play "%L"" in the "Application used to perform the action" box, confirm and exit the Folder Options.

7. Right-Click Menus for File-Type Objects

To add a right-click menu item for a file-type object, it needs to be achieved by modifying the registry. Take a simple example, add a "Set as Hidden Attribute" menu item for a file-type object. The specific operation method is as follows: Run Regedit, create a new item "Shell" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT* branch in the registry, and create a new item "AttHide" under this item. Modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "Set as Hidden Attribute", then create a new item named "Command" under "AttHide".
Double-click the "Default" key value on the right pane of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellAttHideCommand in the registry, a "Edit String" dialog box pops up, enter "attrib.exe +h "%1"" in the "Value data" box (note that the quotes should not be entered), confirm and exit the Registry Editor. Now right-click any file, and you can see that an item "Set as Hidden Attribute" is added to the pop-up shortcut menu. Select it to specify the hidden attribute for the file.

8. Right-Click Menus for Folder-Type Objects

To add a right-click menu item for a folder-type object, you can perform the same settings in the following way under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Shell branch in the registry. For example, to add the "Command Prompt" option to the right-click menu of folders. Create a new item "CommandPrompt" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell branch in the registry, modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "Command Prompt", and create a new item "Command" under this item, and set the "Default" key value in the right pane to "cmd.exe /k cd "%1"". Now you can switch to the specified directory without entering the long CD command.

9. Right-Click Menus for Drive-Type Objects

To quickly activate the screen saver, we can bring the screen saver into the right-click menu of drives. The specific method is as follows: Create a new item "LoadSCR" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDriveshell branch in the registry, modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "Screen Saver", and create a new item "Command" under this item, and set the "Default" key value in the right pane to "C:windowssystem32logon.scr /s "%1"". Refresh and exit the Registry Editor. At this time, right-click any drive, select "Screen Saver" from the menu, and you can directly run the screen saver program.

10. Add Right-Click Menus for All Files and Folders

If you want to add specific menu items to the right-click menus of all files and folders, expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjects in the Registry Editor, then create "Shell command Command" in turn. Other operations are similar to the previous ones.

11. Expansion of Right-Click Cascade Menus

(1) "Open With" Menu

The "Open With" in Windows XP is a very useful menu item. For example, for the same video file, you can quickly call different players to play it through the "Open With" menu without modifying the file association. When you call a program to open a file through "Open With" "Choose Program", the program will be automatically added to the "Open With" item.
After the system has been used for a period of time, the items in the "Open With" menu will increase, and it is necessary to clean them up at this time. Taking cleaning the "Open With" menu of AVI format files as an example: Run Regedit, open the Registry Editor, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.AVI in turn, we can see a subitem "OpenWithList" below, select it, and you can see various applications associated with the "Open With" menu of AVI format files in the right pane. Select the item to be cleaned, press the "DEL" key to delete, refresh and exit the Registry Editor.

(2) "Send To" Menu

The "Send To" menu corresponds to a "SendTo" folder, which is located in the "C:Documents and Settings<Username>" directory in Windows XP. The content in this folder is the items in the "Send To" cascade menu.
We can use this function to quickly back up files, and even back up directly to a compressed package. First, create a backup folder D:Bak2004, then right-click and drag it to the "SendTo" directory, release the mouse, create a shortcut, and rename it to "Backup Folder". At this time, right-click a file in Windows Explorer, and you will see "Send To" "Backup Folder", which is fast and convenient.

(3) "New" Menu

For any file type registered in Windows, we can add a new item "ShellNew" in the corresponding extension key name, then specify the settings for how Windows creates a new file for it. The most commonly used are adding "NullFile" and "Command" values, so that this file type can be added to the "New" cascade menu.
Expand HKEY_CLASSESROOT.htm in the Registry Editor, create a new item "ShellNew", then create a string value "NullFile", the key value is empty, press F5 key to refresh and exit. At this time, right-click on the desktop, open the "New" cascade menu, and you will see an additional item "HTML Document". When you need to delete useless file types in the "New" menu, just find the corresponding file extension in the registry, and then delete the "ShellNew" subitem under it.

12. Special Right-Click Menu Commands

(1) Add "Empty Recycle Bin" Option

Create a new item "" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellexContextMenuHandlers branch in the registry, confirm and exit. When you right-click any file, there will be an "Empty Recycle Bin" option in the shortcut menu.

(2) Add "Open in New Window" Option

Create a new item "NewWindow" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshell branch in the registry, change the "Default" key value in the right pane to "Open in New Window", and create a new item "Command" under "NewWindow", and modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "explorer.exe %1".

(3) Add "Quick Restart" Option

Create a new item "Reboot" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshell branch in the registry, change the "Default" key value in the right pane to "Quick Restart", and create a new item "Command" under "Reboot", and modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "ShutDown -r -t 00".

(4) Add "Copy To" Option

Create a new item "Copy To" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjectsshellexContextMenuHandlers branch in the registry, and modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "".

(5) Add "Move To" Option

Create a new item "Move To" under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjectsshellexContextMenuHandlers branch in the registry, and modify the "Default" key value in the right pane to "".
