Who will save the life of DOS?

Vista has been out for a long time. This new Microsoft operating system only supports NTFS partitions. Then, the operating systems Microsoft will release in the future will also be like this. Then, what about DOS that only supports FAT and FAT32? Can DOS survive in NTFS partitions? For example, my 4 partitions are all NTFS. When I enter the hard disk with矮人DOS and maxdos, I find that the .com, .exe and .bat commands under DOS cannot run. Is there any solution? The premise is that I want to keep the NTFS partitions. I heard that this is the most famous community for DOS. I don't know if there are experts who can solve this problem. I want a real solution, not meaningless arguments.

DOS will not perish because it doesn't support NTFS, just as Linux doesn't support NTFS either; this is theoretical.

Secondly, if you really want to use DOS, at least keep a FAT partition for it; this is a more respectful approach. If you don't want to do that, just waste some memory, make a relatively large DOS floppy disk image file, and then use something like grub4dos to boot it. After DOS boots up, there are many software like ntfspro, ntfs4dos, paragon ifs that can let DOS access NTFS partitions; this should be a relatively perfect solution.

Thanks to the 3rd floor, I'm operating in the way you said now. But there are so many commands in DOS, how can they all be put in a virtual floppy disk? I think it's still better to perfectly combine DOS and NTFS, which is a good way to make DOS regain its vitality

There are many commands under DOS, but it doesn't mean you will use all commands at the same time. I can't think of other uses of DOS besides system maintenance functions. Also, a floppy disk image file can be made very large, at least hundreds of MB is no problem, only limited by the size of your memory. In addition, if you really want to use many DOS commands, don't you care about dividing one more fat partition on the hard disk? Note: Please use the last logical partition as the fat partition if all your other partitions are NTFS partitions.

According to the building owner's hope, it seems that it cannot be realized.

I don't know why, the original username lianjiang2004 can't log in, feeling depressed. Hehe.

The DOS toolbox in One - Key GHOST, MS - DOS all run in an environment that supports NTFS. Copying, deleting, renaming... are the same as operating under FAT. With 95% compatibility, mainly relying on the NTFS4DOS 1.9 driver. Isn't this enough?

Hope this is popular knowledge for novice users. Please, the landlord don't use "stimulating tactics" next time, I can't stand it (haha). Search more, study more, practice more... Don't talk more, going off - topic.

Am I using the "goad method"? Haha...
Thanks to Climbing, thanks to the moderator. DOS is indeed very unfamiliar to me, but it has always been my favorite.
What Climbing said about being able to virtualize floppy disks of hundreds of megabytes, I would like to ask how it is virtualized. I can only virtualize 2.88 megabytes with vfloppy. Please give me some guidance, thank you in advance.
The problem I am encountering now is like this. I used to use a FAT32 partition to make a dual system of DOS and XP, just as Climbing said, mainly for convenient system maintenance. Later, I heard that Vista only supports the NTFS primary boot partition, so I changed all partitions to NTFS. After DOS boots, I can't run the XP installation program "winnt.exe" in the hard disk. Using Ghost 11 also gives an error. Can the moderator say that XP installation programs and Ghost can be executed under ntfs4dos? Please give guidance from all the experts. Anyway, I am ready to embrace NTFS, after all, the security is relatively high. Let's also keep up with the times, hehe.
People say that in the DOS Union, there are all experts and these experts are basically "my enthusiasm is like a fire", which is really true. Haha, I need to learn more. Learn from the贤 and think of being like them, hehe.

Modify the existing bootable img with WinImage, and it can be changed to any size. Then simulate it with GRUB4DOS. You can refer to the relevant posts in the "GRUB4DOS, SYSLINUX and Other Boot Management Software Discussion Area".

Even if using Vista, there is no need to convert all partitions to NTFS partitions. NTFS partitions are not as secure as Microsoft boasts; in my opinion, there are actually many problems. It is suggested that the original poster learn more about the usage of grub4dos.

Thanks to Climbing, thanks to lianjiang2004, thanks to CCTV (why so playful, sweat one), thank you for your attention. The NTFS4DOS 1.9 mentioned by the moderator has raised a new question for me. I access NTFS under DOS through ntfsdos, and load the NTFS partition by running ntfspro.exe extracted from Windows XP. Functions such as copying, deleting, renaming can be realized under DOS, but some external commands in the NTFS partition cannot be run, such as winnt.exe, subst, etc. As far as I know, there are several ways to load NTFS under DOS. All the experts here are experienced people, maybe they have tried various methods. Can you introduce to me which loading method is better? Hehe, is my question too much? Just trouble everyone to give unsparing advice. Thanks in advance.

I just learned about grub after I came to this forum. I am currently using vfloppy. I don't care too much about the graphical interface. What are the differences in functions between the two except the graphical interface? I think grub is a complicated thing, I have to learn it slowly, hehe

Where are all the experts? Maybe the question I raised is too basic? I also think I should search and learn by myself, but I haven't found the way yet, so please give me some pointers.

Ask fewer questions and learn more.

If you really want to learn, reference materials are everywhere, you can search on Google or Baidu.
