How to quickly repair Win2000 startup
I formatted a floppy under Win2000 PRO, then copied the startup files onto it to make a Win2000 boot disk.
But after booting with it, it goes straight into Win2000. If I want to use it to repair hard disk boot, what should I do (using the CD to repair is too troublesome, I only need to be able to repair the boot)? Can it be set to repair automatically?
Or is there some other better way?

What do you want to repair? Your 2000 can't boot?

It can't, how do I repair it (without using the Win2K CD)?

Then make a Win2K startup recovery floppy.

Yeah.... that's exactly what I want.......
How do I do it? Would this work: back up the uncorrupted boot sector into a file, then back up the boot files,
then boot from the boot disk, use a tool to write the boot sector back and copy the boot files back, and use a bat file to do it automatically...
But I don't know how to write the boot sector back (automatically), and which sectors should be backed up?

There is a related thread in the featured threads, go take a look yourself. It counts as a fairly perfect solution.

Using the super moderator's two little tools, SRCBOOT and BOOTPART, you can restore Win2k (or dual-boot startup with 98). The detailed method was introduced before.
