I don't know which version of PE you are using. The one I'm using is the "Laomaotao" "hands-off" edition. In it, opening registry files is no different from doing it inside the Windows operating system. Right-click the registry file, and in the shortcut menu that pops up, click "Edit" and that's it. If the PE you're using doesn't have Notepad, you can also go directly to the Windows directory on C:\( (your system drive), find NotePad.eXe and double-click it, then open the registry file you want to edit, and it'll be OK.

What I want to know is how to edit the registry like editing a text file
The question is, which file is the registry file?

Open Notepad or another text editor, and just drag the registry file directly onto it.

Haha, I'm not talking about editing *.REG
What I mean is, for the so-called system registry, which file in which folder is it?

I hope everyone can answer questions more to the point
If it were editing *.REG, who wouldn't know how?
But the system registry simply isn't stored in REG form

You obviously know that, and still insist on editing it with Notepad? Your question itself is a problem...

Don't know what PE you're using...

The PE versions I've used all have tools for modifying the registry.
