The C drive is in NTFS format, and I heard that pure DOS doesn't recognize it, which makes me a bit worried...

Some people online provided a way to convert it using a third-party software, and it requires installation, which is over 30MB and has plug-ins....

I wonder if there is a tool as convenient as CONVERT to achieve the conversion.

Thanks, grateful!

The above is the post I made a few days ago, now please directly look at floor 5~~

Personally, I feel the quickest and safest conversion method is to back up the data, delete and re - create a FAT32 partition, and then copy the data back.

Also, I've heard that using Paragon Partition Manager has a relatively high success rate for conversion, but I haven't tried it personally.

There will be problems with PQ conversion, that is, sometimes Chinese characters appear garbled and so on.
I myself only converted once, which was copying back and forth under Linux, and finally fixed the boot sector.

Change the partition volume label to English, and then use ghost for backup and recovery. The same idea as the 2nd floor.

Originally, I was just worried, but now I'm scared. The optical drive of my computer is broken. If a virus comes one day, it will really become my worry. Now I'm very vigilant when surfing the Internet, for fear that I might not be able to boot into the system next time if I'm not careful.

Fortunately, the computer hasn't had major problems yet. At least I can still browse web pages. But I haven't restored the system for half a year. The computer often has some inexplicable problems. Now I can't even open Office, and it's the same after changing several versions.

Today, I tried to use the original矮人5.3 to restore the original backup file, and then I was scared. The system prompted:
the files of missing or corupt:
...system32\hal.dll

I searched online and some say it's because NTFS format is not recognized by ghost.

Although I often come to cn-dos and have an abnormal love for batch processing, I'm still not very familiar with installing the system. I'll roughly describe my system and hope that some enthusiastic friends can give me an idea:

Now only the E drive of the computer is in Fat32 format, and the others are in NTFS format. The image file is in the D drive, and the C drive is the system drive. When I want to run ghost under the windows system, it will prompt:
Your system doesn't have the矮人 dos toolkit installed, the program will exit!

If I can still restore the backup file, I'll be extremely grateful!

Let me add:
I don't understand Linux, haven't used pure DOS, haven't used dual systems, and don't want to remove the hard drive for the time being...

It's definitely impossible to restore your image file if you do nothing. So, to restore the image file, you must at least know the following:

1. Make a DOS boot disk or boot disk image file with ghost.exe. Since your C: drive is an NTFS partition and the system you want to restore happens to be on the C: drive, you must enter a pure DOS environment (or PE environment) to restore the system. However, in a pure DOS environment, you can't access the NTFS partition's ghost.exe. So, the best way is to boot into the DOS environment from a floppy disk image, and the ghost.exe is in the A: drive.

2. Know how to boot the above - made floppy disk image file in the xp (NT) environment. There are many choices, such as grub4dos, vfloppy, pqvf, etc. But personally, grub4dos is recommended, but it is very complicated and not easy to learn.

3. Ghost (above 8.0, it is recommended to use the latest version of ghost 11) has built - in NTFS partition support, so you don't need to worry that ghost can't find the image file in the NTFS partition of the D: drive. Suppose your image file is called winxp.gho and is placed in the D:\gho directory, then you can directly restore your system in DOS with the following command line:
ghost -clone,mode=pload,src=1:2\winxp.gho:1,dst=1:1 -sure -rb

The use of grub4dos mentioned above is related to Linux. The DOS in the floppy disk image is pure DOS. Booting this floppy disk image into pure DOS from xp also belongs to the category of dual - system. It seems that you can't handle it by yourself. However, there is another idea for you: find a professional to do these things for you. Why do it yourself? You can just express your gratitude or treat someone to a meal to solve it.

First, determine whether the ghost image file is intact, then install a WinPE, and use the Ghostexp extraction method to restore the C drive. Also, back up before restoring.

In addition, note that the heart of XP is in C:\WINDOWS\system32\config. Usually, regularly backing up this folder under XP can be a one-time solution! If necessary, back up %USERPROFILE%\NTUSER.DAT. Note: Restoration must be done under WinPE

Excuse me for being too inexperienced, really knowing very few things,

1. My image file ARYJBF.GHO is in D plate argh. directory inside, have no any damage, and I can also use the method of copy to copy it to argh. directory inside of E partition of FAT32 format, (I can establish the argh. directory with system hidden attribute by myself), is this useful only? What I can do is these. I want to install a Dwarf to E partition (FAT32) and restore, but do not know why my Dwarf DOS 5.3 always installs to C partition when installing, I want to change it but can't.

2. Also my computer is Microsoft Windows XP , have no floppy drive, I think the methods 1 and 2 that Climbing said may not work.

I can't rely on people around. I searched two points on the Internet last night and didn't find suitable answers, I don't dare to expect anything more, just want to restore, as long as can restore...

PS: I backed up C partition with Dwarf DOS 5.3 (original was FAT32, I was curious to use convert to convert it to NTFS in an instant,哎, really ignorant), don't know if there will be compatibility issues with other versions.

Your backup should have been made with Dwarf DOS tools, so by default, you should still be able to use this tool to restore. Just follow the same steps as when you backed up to select restore. Also, what you call ghost 5.3 should be 8.3.

Let me help you a bit more. Follow these steps one by one to see if it can solve the problem. Also, I declare in advance that I am not responsible for any data loss caused by your operation mistakes in these operation steps, so it is recommended to back up important data before operating.

1. Move the aryjbf.gho file in the d:\argh. directory to the D:\ directory.

2. Download GGhost 2008 from the Internet and install it into the XP boot menu. The target disk for installation can be selected as default or E: drive.
Download address: http://bbs.wuyou.com/viewthread.php?tid=120650

3. Restart the system, select Start GGhost from the XP boot menu to enter the Chinese menu selection interface of GGhost 2008, and then select the MS-DOS button in the interface to enter the DOS command prompt.

4. In the DOS command prompt, enter the following command to restore the system:
ghost -clone,mode=pload,src=1:2\aryjbf.gho:1,dst=1:1 -sure -rb
The system will automatically restart after the restoration is complete.

5. Now your system should be restored to normal, and the C: drive will also be restored to FAT32 status. It is recommended to reinstall GGhost 2008 and use it to make a new clone of the system.
