I mean using the Tianhui lite edition so that when the WIN 98 boot disk starts up, the place where you choose with CD-ROM driver or without CD-ROM driver shows Chinese? How can this be done?

It seems not possible! When the WIN 98 boot disk starts up, the choice between with CD-ROM driver and without CD-ROM driver is in CONFIG.SYS. Tianhui Chinese can only run in AUTOEXEC.BAT.

I haven't tried it on a Win98 boot disk. But last time Roy tried it in the Chinese MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk, and it worked.

These words, “脙膭/羴聜C艆茊菄葓蓧蕣藡”, are actually Chinese characters. It's just like how Chinese characters can't be recognized under DOS without loading a Chinese character support system. If you want to see what these Chinese characters really are, you need to load the corresponding Chinese display program. This was made with bt.
The principle is like this: modify the character bitmaps for ASCII codes 128￣255. The characters in this range are usually some tabulation symbols and special symbols, and they get called when the system starts. We can use bt to fill this area with Chinese characters from a normal Chinese character support system in graphical form. Then, without a Chinese character support system, an extremely short piece of program code can interpret the graphical Chinese characters in this area. Of course, if you don't run this decoding program, these Chinese characters will just be garbled text.
You can get specific usage instructions for bt with bt/?, and they are in Chinese. This program was made many years ago by a very young expert; really amazing when you think about it. The bt software can be found at http://zql3322.3322.net
