"DeepDOS DeepDOS Home Edition" uses the standard MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk made by the webmaster Wengier of the China DOS Union (http://bbs.cn-dos.net) as the system, and uses "GRUB for DOS 0.4.3 Official Version" (http://grub4dos.jot.com) to boot the DOS system image.

Function Introduction:

I. Restore Wizard
The activated boot sector is the default restore target to ensure correct restoration on branded computers. The updated search engine is faster with an expanded search range to the first-level directories of all partitions; it supports searching for Ghost images for restoration from FAT (Hide)/NTFS/EXT partitions, etc.

II. Backup Wizard
The activated boot sector is the default backup target and the last partition is the default storage point for the image; the wizard can automatically calculate the available space of the last partition. If there is not enough space to store the upcoming image, it will automatically set the "storage point" to another suitable partition.

III. Reinstall System Wizard
It supports Windows NT and above series system installation CD (single/collection) ISO images, and installs the system through this wizard. It supports installation in the full NTFS environment. It can automatically detect the integrity of the ISO image file, identify and screen the "installation CD ISO image". If it is a collection ISO image, the wizard will prompt you to select an installation source. Using the "DeepDOS" follow-up installation ensures that you can re-enter "DeepDOS" in case of installation exceptions to restore the old system or select another ISO image for installation.

IV. Self-update Function
It can update the programs in DeepDOS, such as replacing the Ghost.exe version; it can add or remove programs and components in the "graphic tools".

Explanation of "Reinstall System Wizard"
Put the downloaded ISO image in the drive letter of the local hard disk (root directory or first-level directory). If the local hard disk file system property is FAT32 format, it is recommended to put it in the FAT32 partition. (Right-click on "Local Hard Disk (D:)" - select "Properties" to see the "file system")
Enter "DeepDOS DeepDOS Home Edition", select "Reinstall Activated Area System" => "Next" => select the installation source (ISO image) you want to use. After the detection is completed, there will be a detection result. Press "Start Execution" to start the automatic installation.

After the system installation is completed, there will be an "Uninstall DOS.BAT" under drive C:. Please run this file to clean up after installation and can choose to keep or uninstall the following "DeepDOS".

DeepDOS Home Edition V5.00 Update Content:

1. Added graphic tool components.
2. Added "DeepDOS Self-update" function.
3. Updated the backup wizard; added compression ratio options and options for hiding the folder storing backup images.
4. Added the option to shut down after the restore/backup wizard operation is completed; default to restart after restore and default to shut down after backup.
5. Added command line tools; EXT.BAT decompressor, which can decompress multiple compression formats such as 7-ZIP, RAR, ZIP, ARJ, CAB, UHA, ISO, GZIP, etc.
6. Added command line tools; GRUB4DOS.BAT to boot IMG images.
7. Updated the application required by the "Reinstall System" module, optimized the reinstall system wizard, and added solutions for system installation process interruptions due to loading compatibility issues.
8. Fixed the "Start Run" batch processing bug and the problem of out-of-sync display of the "search engine".
9. Replaced Ghost v8.3 with v11.0.2.
