As the title says, what's the difference? (What are the different uses?) I heard that ISOLINUX has the best compatibility, so I want to learn it. But there are no materials. Does anyone have a tutorial on ISOLINUX?

isolinux is used to boot from CD-ROM (iso9660)
syslinux.exe syslinux.com are used for FAT format, generally common for making bootable USB drives (Windows, DOS) pxelinux is used for PXE network boot extlinux is used for ext2, ext3 file systems Also, memdisk also comes from syslinux http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/syslinux-3.62.zip [ Last edited by barton on 2008-3-5 at 08:46 PM ] |
