My hard disk is a 10G Seagate. Now after installing WIN98, the system says there is a problem with my registry. I downloaded an lformat from the Internet and low-level formatted the hard disk, then reinstalled the system, but the problem still appears. My machine is a Lenovo Tongxi, the motherboard is INTEL810 WHINTEY. When I first bought it, it came with Lenovo HAPPY LIUNX, but I'm not used to it. After changing the system, this problem has kept appearing. Please help me, experts, thanks. Also, please tell me how to use the original LOFORMAT, thank you!

The system says there is a problem with my registry ----- and then you low-level format it???
This is outrageous. I weep for that hard disk.

If there are problems installing win98, you can try upgrading the motherboard drivers, the IDE drivers (hard disk drivers), ...
If that still doesn't work, try installing win2000 instead...
I think it's probably a conflict between your 810 motherboard and the system.

I really don't know how much longer your hard disk can last!

Man! This is your hard disk!Actually, this problem is not your hard disk's fault at all, you killed the innocent by mistake! The most likely cause is your memory stick. If you added memory recently, it's very likely incompatible with your motherboard or the original memory stick; if you didn't add any extra memory, then it may be caused by poor contact of the memory stick. You can take it out and use an eraser to clean the gold fingers on the contacts, then put it back firmly. Or try replacing it with a better memory stick.

Registry problems for no apparent reason are mostly caused by memory.

Seagate hard disks are very good, there's simply no need for low-level formatting....
