Question: My computer has two hard drives. Win 98 was originally installed on drive C, and later I deleted it, but did not format it. WinXP is installed on drive D, and the file system is FAT32. On the I partition of my second hard drive, I have some important files, and the file system is NTFS. These files were all encrypted. One time, after the computer had a problem, I reinstalled the system on drive D, and as a result I can no longer open the files on drive I. I wonder if any expert can solve my problem. Thanks in advance.

1。Judging from the title you wrote, even if you didn't say it I'd know you're a newbie...
2。Is this a DOS problem?
3。Can't you post it in the Windows section?
4。You really drove me mad, so please don't take my wording and tone too much to heart!

You can use PartitionMagic to modify it, as long as you just change the format of drive I!

Don't use pqmagic to change it, if you do the directories will all get messed up
You'd better go into XP's Disk Manager, look carefully in the File menu, I remember there's a menu item for adding some kind of separated volume, which can add the NTFS partition into the system
I had 2000server break once, and after moving the backup NTFS partition hard drive onto a newly installed system it wouldn't recognize it, then later I found this method
Also, in Disk Manager there's an option to upgrade a basic partition to a dynamic partition, that seems to be related too, though I still haven't tried what effect it has,
whoever gets a chance can explore it a bit
