It's not PE, it's really XP. After being streamlined, it's just over 1GB. Using a 2GB USB flash drive, the USB flash drive reads and writes a bit slowly, but it's quiet. I know not much about this. Is it that if I format the disk to HDD format, I can operate it like a normal hard disk, such as writing the MBR boot system and so on...

Found a piece of information, everyone study it. It installed SP1 successfully, I wonder what special features SP2 has?

This doesn't make much sense. After installing a normal XP, the lifespan of the USB flash drive is counted in days. The 100,000 write cycles of the flash memory will be quickly exhausted by XP.

Turn off the virtual memory. When XP is running, there are few write operations, which is still very meaningful. If you only chat online, you don't need the hard disk. Also, if you have certificates, passwords and other things saved in the system, don't worry about leakage. Just unplug the USB drive and carry it with you or lock it, which is very safe. Even if you don't use it usually, you can make a backup. In case the hard disk is damaged, you can use it as a substitute.

In addition, you can virtualize a hard disk, put IE cache, temp, history records and so on into it, turn off automatic updates, and there will be basically no writing operations.

This 85 yuan 2g erasable one can be erased 1 million times. Read-only (basically not written) can be used for more than 2 years, right? |

That's really powerful~~ Directly using a USB flash drive~~ But I'm not interested in experimenting on my own..

The practical significance is not great, but it's okay to study. Do you want to run XP on a machine without a hard disk? What do you want to do???

It doesn't have much practical significance, right?

The trouble when directly installing the XP system on a USB flash drive/mobile hard drive is that after the system starts, it will re-identify the USB flash drive/mobile hard drive and load it as a MassStorage USB device.

It modified the XP installation files, loaded the USB driver during installation, and could directly choose to install to the USB device. Then it said it could be used normally. |
