My Samsung SATA USB hard disk is formatted as FAT32. usbmass 4.05 can detect all partitions, but it cannot read or write them. Using config to load usbaspi.sys is the same.

Could any friend provide a suitable driver? Thanks.

Have you tried DUSE?

Reporting to the admin, DUSE still doesn't work after running it, and it can't detect the USB hard disk either.

However, if I connect the USB hard disk before booting into DOS, then it can actually be detected and read/written even without any driver, wow

How can you read and write it before booting DOS? What system are you in?

What he means is, plug in the drive first and then boot up..

wang6610 is right, I was unclear.
If I connect the USB hard disk and then boot into DOS, it can still be read and written even in pure DOS.

Hehe, that's quite normal! The premise is that your motherboard supports USB devices.

If the BIOS supports USB booting, then under DOS you don't need a USB driver, but on many machines USB is rather slow in this situation.

That's indeed the case. I tried it again with a USB flash drive: if it is connected before booting DOS, then after DOS starts it can also be read and written normally.

As for the speed, I don't know, I haven't compared it.

But if the USB flash drive is connected only after DOS has started, usbmass can drive it (read/write), while the USB hard disk cannot.
