Microsoft Windows PowerShell is a new command-line shell and scripting language for system administration and automation. Windows PowerShell is built on the .NET Framework, allowing IT professionals to manage computers through commands or scripts, thereby increasing efficiency through system automation. Windows PowerShell includes:
* 129 command-line tools (called "cmdlets") for performing common system administration tasks, such as managing services, processes, event logs, certificates, the registry, and using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
* Command-line tools with standard naming conventions and common parameters, easy to learn and use; and easy tools for sorting, filtering, and formatting data and objects.
* Support for existing scripting languages, existing command-line tools, and multiple versions of Windows, including Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows Server (codename "Longhorn").
* Convenient features that allow users to browse data stores (such as the registry and certificate stores) as if they were the file system.
* Standard utilities for managing Windows data located in different stores and in different formats, including Active Directory (ADSI), Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Component Object Model (COM) objects, ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), HTML, and XML.
* Advanced expression analysis and .NET object processing at the command line, including pipelining objects to help increase the efficiency of IT professionals.
* Extensible interfaces that allow independent software vendors and enterprise developers to build custom cmdlets to meet specific application and system administration requirements.
After installing this update, you may need to restart your computer. We provide and license this update to you under the Windows Vista license terms.

PowerShell Plus

PowerShell+ is a true PowerShell console embedded in a rich and intuitive user interface. Currently, PowerShell+ is in beta. Existing PowerShellAnalyzer customers have access to the beta program. PowerShellAnalyzer licenses will continue to work with PowerShell+ when it is released.
PowerShell+ is free for non-commercial use.

PowerShell Plus is a PowerShell console extension with a rich text user interface, making command-line writing easier.
