I am a newbie. After downloading the latest version http://download.gna.org/grub4dos/grub4dos-0.4.3-2007-12-25.zip, I found that it doesn't work with my Biostar 945GZ motherboard: After booting from the USB flash drive and loading GRLDR via NTLDR, the built-in menu.lst is automatically executed (is the built-in priority?), but \menu.lst didn't work. When running the root (hd0,0) command in the command line, it prompts Disk read error. I tried a version from June and it worked, but I don't know why? However, the latest version works perfectly on my HP 6515b notebook!

It's not just this problem. And there's the problem that the USB drive can't boot. Switching back to the old version is normal. With the version from 12-25, after booting from the USB drive, as soon as GRUB.EXE is run, only a blinking cursor appears and there are no prompts. Oh my god.

Very unstable: I made a maintenance USB flash drive, including about 3.77GB of data. After booting NTLDR and loading GRLDR, the menu cannot be executed. After booting from the hard drive, it reports that the file system of the USB flash drive is incorrect and requires scanning. After confirming the scan, entering the system, it is found that the USB flash drive is an empty disk. After safely unplugging it, going to the HP 6515b notebook, the same situation of finding an empty disk occurs!!! Found the FOUND00000 folder in the root directory, which should be the lost files. It has never been so serious even though GRUB was booted multiple times before!!! But it never occurred under NTLDR.

Now I have serious loss of confidence in GRUB.

I am using Kingston 1GB and 4GB, the quality should be no problem, and both have problems (the Fireware of the two is different).

Mine isn't much better either. Using a USB-FDD on the USB, it's recognized as USB-HDD. After booting, it always gets stuck on BOOTING GRUB. This happens with several Asus motherboards, (it's normal at home) But using another USB-ZIP MP3 is very normal. However, the problem is that after using it on an Asus motherboard, when taking it home and using it, there's disk protection under XP. The protection only disappears after restarting several times. It scared me to death. Both are GRUB4DOS from 12-25. I don't know why. Maybe I flashed the 08 MBR in, and the GRUB file is from 12-25, that's the reason. Maybe it's a bug, who knows. There are many strange problems with using GRUB on USB drives!!! But overall, I really like it, support!!!
