I want to use p processing to move a desktop icon to some position on the desktop. I don't know whether this can be done.

I really don't know about this either. This is all hidden Windows stuff. It should be stored in the user's registry, but as for exactly where it's stored, I really don't know.

As long as it can be done by compositing, that's fine.
Waiting for an expert to come up with batch code that composites text and images.

Originally I wanted to move the desktop icons according to some rule, and then have the screensaver call it, which would be pretty fun. Looks like it can't be done.
