I downloaded the black-screen resolution adjustment hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+F7), but it doesn't work. I put it in the WINDOWS folder on drive C, and pressing the keyboard gets no response. I've posted the download URL here.

I suggest using Win+R. Use the 3rd-party command SETRES mentioned in post #5.
