Can MSCLIENT and NetWare get on the Internet? What is the smallest web browser under DOS (one that can access ftp)?

Of course MSCLIENT and NetWare can't access the Internet. You have to use a Packet driver.

Is the key technology for getting on the Internet the packet driver? Does application software matter that little?

The Packet driver is the foundation, and then come the various Internet programs that support TCP/IP.

Besides the Packet driver and Internet programs that support TCP/IP, is anything else needed? The TCP/IP protocol is included within Internet programs that support TCP/IP, right?

Please take a look at this thread:

It seems this driver does not support the TCP/IP protocol.
