Scope: FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 partitions.
Functions: 1. Create boot sectors.
For FAT12 and FAT16 partitions, write sectors 0-1-1;
For FAT32 partitions, Win98 boot writes sectors 0-1-1, 0-1-3, 0-1-7, 0-1-9;
WinXP boot writes sectors 0-1-1, 0-1-7, 0-1-d.
2. Back up/restore boot sectors.
Read/write sectors 0-1-1, 0-1-3, 0-1-d.
Features: Chinese and English prompts; freely change the system boot type.
Usage: Csrboot drive /s|/r filename
Csrboot drive /98|/xp
Commands
/S Save boot sectors to a backup file
/R Restore boot sectors from a backup file
/98 Create Win98 boot sectors
/xp Create WinXP boot sectors
Note: 1. When using Win98 boot, the root directory should contain io.sys, msdos.sys, and command.com.
2. When using WinXP boot, the root directory should contain boot.ini, bootfont.bin, bootsect.dos, ntdetect.com, and ntldr.
bootsect.dos is the binary file of sector 0-1-1. You can use CSRboot.com to back up one file, then rename the file to bootsect.dos.
boot.ini should contain at least:
timeout=5
default=c:\
(or default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS)
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"
.....
3. Using tools such as Avlgomgr.exe, you can create a virtual floppy drive and virtual CD-ROM drive to achieve multi-boot.
