7za.exe was officially released on 2007-12-06. Then it took 1 day to localize and test it. The localization rate is over 90%, that is, when it comes to relatively advanced applications, there will be incomplete localization. Hope everyone likes it~

Still don't understand what 7zS.sfx is for. Is it that without 7zS.sfx, the 7zaSfx.exe installer can't run?

What does the 7zaSfx.exe installer do? I only know it releases 7za.exe to %windir%, are there any other actions? (:P I'm being made out to be the bad guy)

Didn't do anything, actually it's just copying 7zaSetup.bat over, just an application example of 7zS.sfx

Good, the volume after localization is much smaller, originally 505KB

I used it a long time ago, but it's not easy to package and send to others. Sometimes RAR can't be extracted.

Yes, it also depends on the user's installed version of rar. The self-extracting format for packaging is better.
I mainly use it to package and compress some files to save more space, such as packaging KB patches. There are hundreds of patches on a scarred Windows XP, more than 120 MB, and rar is powerless. In fact, I personally think that the highest compression ratio is still UHARC, but the speed is really too slow. UHARC also has a corresponding 16-bit pure MS-DOS program. Unfortunately, the author seems to have stopped developing it.

Now 7-zip has a higher compression ratio than UHA in many cases.

7za.exe a -sfx7zCon.sfx 7zasfx.exe *.exe *.sfx 1.42MB It seems that the self-extracting format for packing small files is not suitable under pure DOS. And 7za.exe cannot be compressed with UPX

You're talking about 7za Chinese localization? Does the MRP DOS 16-bit system display traditional Chinese characters normally?
The 7za Chinese localized version can display Chinese normally, but I don't really understand the localization grammar (Taiwanese traditional or Hong Kong traditional).
