　　If you only use CD, then you cannot directly switch to another drive letter. It can only directly change directories on the current drive. If you want to go from drive C to another drive, just type the drive letter at the prompt . Suppose the current location is C:\DOS , and you type:
CD D:\ABC 　, then the current directory on drive D will be changed to d:\ABC, but your current location has still not switched to drive D. You still need to type: d: before you can enter it. If you want to switch directly to a directory on another disk, then you need to use the CCD or　XCD command.

Under the DOS that comes with win98se (pure DOS), I can't use the CD command to go from drive C to other drives, such as drive D or E; but I can use the FORMAT command to format drive D and E. I don't know what the reason is, please give me some guidance, experts!! Thanks!!
