Under the DOS that comes with win98se (pure DOS), I can't use the CD command to go from drive C to other drives, such as drive D or E; but I can use the FORMAT command to format drive D and E. I don't know what the reason is, please give me some guidance, experts!!
Thanks!!

If you only use CD, then you cannot directly switch to another drive letter. It can only directly change directories on the current drive. If you want to go from drive C to another drive, just type the drive letter at the prompt . Suppose the current location is C:\DOS , and you type:
CD D:\ABC , then the current directory on drive D will be changed to d:\ABC, but your current location has still not switched to drive D. You still need to type: d: before you can enter it. If you want to switch directly to a directory on another disk, then you need to use the CCD or XCD command.
