First I want to ask whether you have used the software easyboot. It is a tool for making boot CDs. I downloaded the fully Chinese DOS boot disk made by Shen Jie. First, under pure DOS I used hd-copy to write my extracted win98.ima to a floppy disk, then under Windows 2000 I used winimage to make that floppy into win98.img. Then in easyboot I used “run win98.img” to run this img file, and used easyboot to make it into an IOS file. Then I loaded this iso file in Virtual PC. When I chose item 6 as shown in the picture, the situation shown in the picture I uploaded appeared. What is going on? Please help me take a look and analyze it, and see whether there is any solution!! Thanks!!

What happens if you boot with win98.img by itself in VPC?

Using win98.imgd by itself in VPCj has no problem!!!

Does the problem also exist when booting in real mode? This is a conflict in one section of the called memory address... You need to check it. Find that program and modify the corresponding statement in the config or autoexec file.

There is also no big problem when booting in real mode, only one small problem: after booting, the selection menu cannot be seen, but if I press the corresponding number key, it can still go on to the next step. I don't know why? (My personal guess is whether this is a floppy speed issue in real mode, because the menu's default time is 20 seconds. Not sure if that's right????) Looks like I can only give up on this Chinese DOS boot disk and slowly look for another one!!! Feeling depressed............
