I have successfully partitioned and formatted the USB flash disk using a special method, and it can be used under DOS and Windows versions below Win 98.
But under Win XP, I can't use multiple partitions, only the first partition can be used. In Disk Management, the second partition logical drive can be seen, but there is no drive letter assigned, that is, it can't be identified. It says I need to restart the computer, but after restarting, I still can't operate it. When booted into the system recovery console mode, using the diskpart command, I can see multiple partitions of the USB flash disk, but still can't operate the second partition. It says that Win XP doesn't support multiple partitions on removable disks.
Please help solve this problem, thank you~

XP supports multi-partition USB drives. Try changing a USB drive partitioning software. I remember there was a partitioning software included in one of my USB drive driver CDs before.

I also had the situation you had. The solution is not difficult either. First, figure out the brand of your USB flash drive, and then find the mass production tool of this brand. Use the mass production tool to partition, that's it.

Partition under DOS

Got it, I have already partitioned it. And it can be used normally under DOS and Windows 98 or earlier. The problem is: in Windows XP, the first partition can be used, but the second partition cannot be used.

The purpose of dividing into two partitions is: the first partition is used as a bootable disk, and the second partition is used as a data disk.

My U_flash disk is a Kingston 2G one. There is no driver on the homepage, and the seller didn't give the driver.

Friend, can you help me find a driver? Thank you!

The genuine Kingston currently doesn't have a mass production tool, but older Kingston ones do.

Please go to the Wuyou Forum to lurk.

555555555555555Mass production failed, a 2G USB drive turned into 32M, and it can never be mass-produced back. 55555555, partitioning is useless, low-level formatting says it's a CD, can't format, doesn't recognize as a USB drive, who can help retrieve the remaining 1.7G capacity 555555555555555
