I started making boot CDs fairly early on,
so I’m summarizing some experience here to share with everyone! 1. First use a floppy disk to make a boot disk, and change the file paths referenced in config and AUTOEXEC.BAT to drive C: Of course, those files also need to be moved from the floppy disk to drive C:! Only then can you cram 2.88MB or larger files into a 1.44MB floppy disk. After you’ve tested it successfully, use WinImage to read the floppy into a 2.88MB IMA image file, and at this point the 2.88MB floppy in that image will still be completely empty! Then burn the files you moved earlier to drive C: onto the CD, and change the file paths referenced in config and AUTOEXEC.BAT to %cdrom% and that’s it! But sometimes there are still some files that absolutely must stay on drive A:, so don’t move all of them over! Just analyze it according to the situation yourself! One last thing to pay attention to is: the generated 2.88MB IMA image file must definitely be defragmented before saving. That way the CD read/write speed will be much faster! Also, you absolutely should use CDRW for testing! Otherwise the loss will be too big! If you burn it wrong you can start over. Once everything is confirmed, it won’t be too late to burn it onto CDR! Also, it’s best to use high-speed CDRW for burning, that way it’s much faster. For example, I use 24x CDRW, super fast! Below is the download address for the Chinese version of WinImage (includes keygen) http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/newdos/dispbbs.asp?boardID=11&ID=2178 |

What did you use to burn it? I’ve always used nero, pretty convenient.

But I’ve never tried nero’s virtual hard disk boot mode, I don’t know what it would look like when it boots.

In nero’s new compilation menu, just choose boot disk, right!
Just select the *.IMA file you need! |

First try writing with a CDRW anyway, it doesn’t matter if you write it wrong!
At most just erase it and write it again, right! Also, read the help files more, I only learned how to burn boot CDs by reading the help files! |

It seems you first use ghost to generate a *.IMG file and then use nero to burn it.
Of course, in the boot disk options you choose virtual hard disk! |
