I want to put the edit.ini generated when setting the font color in another place instead of drive A. How to do it? Also, I want to call the help file in another place. How to do it?

You can just copy the EDIT.INI and EDIT.HLP files to other places. Environment variables can be set freely, with basically no restrictions. Only some special environment variables have their specific meanings, such as COMSPEC and so on.

The EDIT command will automatically call these two files in the current folder. Therefore, just place them together.

When I use edit.com and it's not in the folder where edit.ini is located, how does it call the.ini and.hlp files in drive A?
