Hello everyone!
My computer was originally divided into three partitions, C, D, and E, with capacities of 3G, 6G, and 6G respectively, 15G total. C originally had the WIN98 operating system installed. Later, after formatting the drive and installing a DOS system, I found that the other drives were gone and the drive capacity had become 2G. Using FDISK, I only found the C drive, and the total capacity shown was that much. How can I restore the original partitions without losing data? I had no choice but to format the drive and reinstall WIN98, but the problem is still the same. Please give me some advice, experts. |

Is the disk you used to boot the partition DOS 6.0? Or is your partition FAT16? Those will all limit partitions to under 2G.

I just checked for viruses and found Script.Redlof.Htm. How can I restore the original partitions?

If you want to see hard disk partitions larger than 2GB, please use MS-DOS 7.10 or above.

"Later, after formatting the drive and installing a DOS system, I found that the other drives were gone and the drive capacity had become 2G,"
You definitely used a DOS 6.22 or earlier boot disk before formatting. That is the root of the problem. |

The following is quoted from xierwa at 2003-6-8 21:22:05: No use. Upgrading the system to MS-DOS 7.x is the key. |

Boot with 7.x, kill the virus, and it should be fine.
